Ministry Team at Christ Church Episcopal

The People of Christ Church

All of the people who make up Christ Church are called in our Baptismal Covenant to believe in God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to continue in the apostlesí teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers, to persevere in resisting evil, to repent of our sins, to proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ, to seek and serve Christ in all persons, to love our neighbors, to strive for justice and peace, and to respect the dignity of every human being.

In addition, at ordination our clergy are called to love and serve the people among whom they work, to preach, to declare Godís forgiveness, to pronounce Godís blessing, and to administer the sacraments.

The Vestry

The congregation elects a vestry of 7 members to be the decision making body of the church. Members of the vestry are elected on a rotating basis at the annual meeting for 3 year terms. The vestry is responsible for all the administrative functions of the church.  This includes personnel, finances, property management, communication and congregational development.   The vestry recognizes the authority of the Bishop in matters concerning the church.

The Ministry Team

The Ministry Team reports to the vestry and is responsible for developing and implementing the programmatic offerings of the church.  The team consists of lay and ordained members who meet regularly to schedule church services and parish activities.  Ministry team meetings are open at any time to all who are interested in participating. Ministry Team meetings are held monthly (generally on the 4th Tuesday at 7 pm) and are posted on the calendar and website calendar.

The Clergy

As members of the ministry team, the Clergy have the responsibility for meeting the spiritual needs of the community.  This includes worship services and pastoral care.
